Theatre Education for everyone / Theatre Education in the Context of Pedagogy

We are committed to regional, national and international networking with the aim of strengthening and promoting theatre education in educational contexts – that is, from elementary pedagogy of early childhood education through to higher education and universities, and far beyond.

 

This encompasses all forms of pedagogy, educational training and school-based learning, recreational and social education. And therefore, also includes leisure and social pedagogy, theatre and drama educators in the independent sector, as well as educational contexts in the medical field — specifically, forms of medical education. 

 

All children, teenagers, and adults should have the opportunity to experience performative teaching and learning methods, enjoy theatrical activities, participate in group plays, exercises, and presentations, and engage with aesthetic aspects.

 

IDEA – AUSTRIA sees itself—together with and in collaboration with other associations and organizations — as a hub. 

 

Music, visual arts, dance, and expressive movement, together with drama (in connection with theater), make valuable contributions to cultural education. Combined, these art forms foster a nuanced aesthetic awareness, thereby contributing to personal development.
